Psalms 16:8

I have set the Lord always before me.  Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Reality must be faced:  we will face challenges in our life and these hard times have potential to shake us to the core.  But our Psalmist confidently states that he will not be shaken because he has taken steps to prevent this from happening.  It inspires us to think about what the phrase might mean when he says he has set the Lord always before me. There is an action involved that can place us in a position to not be shaken regardless of the challenges we meet.

*As I drive down the road, how can I set the Lord always before me?

Psalm 23:1-4

Psalm 23:1-4

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Joshua 1:9

Joshua 1:9: Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Be strong and courageous…easier said than done when facing daunting life circumstances.  That is why it is vital to daily pursue our relationship with the Lord, keeping close to His strength and wisdom.  Relationships take effort and our relationship with the Lord is no different.  Decide to draw closer to God today through conversations with Him in prayer and through seeking His Word in Scripture.  He is always ready to spend time with you!

Joshua 1:5

Joshua 1:5: … I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Can we trust God to follow through with His promises?  His character tells us that we can.  He is faithful.  He is strong.  He loves us.  He is a good Shepherd.  He is our Father.  Meditate on the character of God for a few minutes and enjoy the sense of security you can find only in Him.
